Cleric Proffers Solutions To Nigeria’s Problems

The insecurity in the country has been attributed to the level of poverty, unemployment and inability of the Federal Government to take decisive action.

Pastor John Foster, General Overseer, Divine Reconciliation Gospel Church, Lagos, stated this at the opening of another parish of the church at Ajah, recently.

He called on the Federal Government to find a way of putting an end to unemployment and poverty, which he said would go a long way to stem the insecurity in the country.

“An hungry man is an angry man; when one has nothing to eat nor work to do. Such people may resort to violence to get what he or she wants.

“So many problems need attention and this are not forthcoming. The level of unemployment, lack of electricity with which most artisans work; and since this is not available, the situation has made people to take up arms, and has resulted in insecurity in the country.

“The Federal Government should strive to provide constant electricity supply and enough jobs for the teeming youths. This will minimise the vice,” Foster advised.

The general overseer called on President Goodluck Jonathan to be bold enough to unmask those behind all forms of insecurity in the country.

Foster also called on clerics in the country not to dwell much on prosperity while preaching to their congregation, because this has pushed many youth seek short-cuts to wealth. He urged them to always preach God’s words and morality which is the only solution to ensuring peace in the country.
