A horrific and chilling act of violence unfolded in Irele, Ondo State, on May 5, 2025, when 41-year-old Odunayo Olomolatan, the son of a local landlord, allegedly hacked his 22-year-old tenant, Joy Tale, to death during a heated argument.

Sources reveal that the brutal altercation escalated quickly, resulting in the young woman’s untimely death in the small town of Ode-Irele, where residents are still reeling from the shocking incident.

Confirming the tragedy, DSP Olayinka Ayanlade, spokesperson for the Ondo State Police Command, stated that the suspect, Odunayo Olomolatan, was swiftly arrested and is currently in police custody at the Divisional Police Headquarters in Ode-Irele.
