The Lagos State Government has released a traffic advisory ahead of the All Progressives Congress (APC) primaries scheduled for Saturday, 10th May, 2025.
The primaries will hold at the APC State Secretariat on ACME Road, Ikeja.
A statement from the Lagos Commissioner for Transportation, Oluwaseun Osiyemi on Wednesday said to ensure smooth traffic flow and maintain public order during the event, authorities announced a complete closure of ACME Road to vehicular traffic.
He said the road would be inaccessible from Adeniyi Jones, Lateef Jakande, and ACME Crescent.
“Motorists are advised to use the following alternative routes: Those approaching from Adeniyi Jones should take Aromire to connect Allen Junction.
“Drivers from Allen Avenue are advised to use Aromire, link Ladipo Oluwole, and proceed through Guinness.
“Commuters on Akilo Road can access Wemco Road, connect Lateef Jakande or continue through Omole to reach their destinations,” he said.
Osiyemi urged the public to plan their journeys in advance and avoid the ACME Road axis unless travel in the area is absolutely necessary, to help reduce congestion.
“Officials from the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) will be deployed to manage traffic and provide support along affected routes,” he said.
