A Jos Magistrates’ Court on Thursday sentenced a 29-year-old businessman, John Nwandon to nine months imprisonment after the person he bailed absconded.
The Magistrate, Shawomi Bokkos, summarily tried and sentenced Nwandom after he pleaded guilty to the charge.
Bokkos in her judgment gave the convict an option of fine of N20, 000.
She also ordered him to pay compensation of N240,000 to the complainant.

Longwal said convict bailed took one Lucky Monday who stole eggs worth N240,000 from the poultry farm he was employed.
The prosecution said when it was time to produce the suspect, Nwandom failed to comply.
The prosecutor said that the offence contravened the Plateau Penal Code Law.
