“Chronic crisis without cure,” Katsina PDP Reps give reasons for defection to APC

Three members of House of Representatives on the platform of People Democratic Party, PDP in Katsina State defected to the All Progressives Congress, APC on Thursday.
The lawmakers defected in the in the presence of the Governor Rikko Radda of Katsina state and other top officials of APC in from state who were present at the National Assembly.
The lawmakers are Hon. Balarabe Dabai (Bakori/Danja federal constituency), Hon. Iliyasu Abubakar (Batsari, Safana and Dan-Musa federal constituency) and Hon. Salisu Yusuf (Mashi/Dutse federal constituency).
Speaker Abbas Tajudeen read the letters from the lawmakers announcing their defections from the PDP to the APC.
One of the lawmakers, Satish Yusuf Majigiri, stated that the reason his defection was due to a “chronic crisis without cure” that has afflicted the PDP at the national level.
Majigiri also claimed that he was leaving the PDP to seek better opportunities to advance in politics.
Another lawmaker, Dubai, claimed that the PDP crisis had existed since 2022. He stated that it had affected all members of the party and previous attempts to fix it had failed.
The third lawmaker, Illiyasu, said his reason for leaving the party was because he couldn’t efficiently represent his constituency under the PDP.
