The Managing Director of the Kano State Housing Corporation, Alhaji Abdullahi Rabi’u, has declared an all-out war on illegal allocations of houses and corner shops, warning staff to steer clear or face dire consequences.

Speaking during a strategic meeting with directors at the Corporation’s new headquarters in Kwankwasiyya City, Rabi’u made it clear that the era of shady land deals is over. He vowed that the Corporation would fully align with Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf’s directive on transparency, accountability, and openness in all land-related dealings.

According to a statement by the Corporation’s Director of Public Enlightenment, Ismail Garba Gwammaja, the meeting was aimed at re-educating directors and reviewing existing laws to ensure the Corporation operates strictly within its mandate.

Rabi’u pulled no punches, stressing that land racketeering will not be tolerated. “Let me remind you all—Governor Abba Yusuf has signed an executive order banning the allocation of land for curve-outs or corner shops under any disguise. This is to stop illegal land deals and safeguard public spaces,” he said.

He reiterated that the state government is determined to enforce the rule of law and protect public assets from being plundered by unscrupulous insiders.

“This initiative shows the government’s unyielding commitment to good governance and accountability in managing public resources,” Rabi’u added.

He commended the dedication and professionalism of the staff, urging them to maintain their momentum in advancing the Corporation’s goals—without compromising ethics.
