Lawmaker Charges Muslims to Show Love
The ACN lawmaker, representing Eti-Osa Federal Constituency of Lagos in the House of Representatives, Babajide Akinloye has charged Muslims to be resolute and that with all hands on deck, Nigeria would achieve her real greatness in the comity of nations.
Akinloye stated that this solemn festival provided another opportunity to both the leadership and the followers to be firm and determined that the greatness of Nigeria is attainable if the right approach and disposition to governance and followership is accorded the needed priority.
He said the significance of the festival which was centred on faith and sacrifice should remain the guiding principle in one’s daily interaction, adding that with the passion to go extra mile, the greatness of Nigeria is within reach.
The lawmaker pointed that celebrating the feast called for sacrifice and that it should be a constant reminder to all Muslims to live a life of sacrifice for the common good of all and sundry.
He therefore, charged Muslims to continue to show love and understanding among themselves and those of other faiths by promoting peaceful co-existence of Nigerians irrespective of tribe or ethnic background, saying, “we should not lose the focus of the celebration which is obedience to the injunctions of Almighty Allah as contained in the Holy Qu’ran.â€
Akinloye added that Islam taught peace, good neighbourliness and kindness, with a call on Nigerians to shun divisive acts and promote love, harmony, understanding and respect for one another at all times.
