Discord, on Sunday, temporarily marred an ongoing high-level coalition meeting in which former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, Peter Obi, and former Rivers State Governor Rotimi Amaechi, were involved.

Trouble started when disgruntled  delegates from Jigawa State disrupted the proceedings at the meeting a holding at the Abuja Continental Hotel.

The meeting was organised by the National Political Consultative Group (North).

The chaos began when former Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Babachir Lawal, called on a delegate to speak on behalf of those from Jigawa State.

But Jigawa delegates rejected the person announced. They stormed the stage and  blocked the person from speaking.

In the midst of  the chaos, security personnel, including members of the Nigerian Police, DSS, and private guards, formed a protective barrier around important personalities like Atiku and Amaechi.

But normalcy was restored when Mustapha Lamido, son of former Jigawa State Governor Sule Lamido, and another person were chosen to speak for the delegates  from the state.
