Orijin, the culturally-rooted alcoholic beverage from the stables of Guinness Nigeria Plc, has been unveiled as the official alcoholic beverage sponsor of the 2025 edition of the iconic Ojude Oba Festival, scheduled to hold on June 8 in Ijebu-Ode, Ogun State.
The Ojude Oba Festival—renowned globally for its rich cultural display, regal age-grade parades (Regberegbe), and homage to the Awujale of Ijebuland—remains one of Africa’s most colourful showcases of Yoruba tradition. Orijin’s partnership with the festival underscores the brand’s alignment with cultural pride and community spirit.
Speaking on the partnership, Girish Sharma, Managing Director/CEO of Guinness Nigeria Plc, remarked:
“Orijin is a celebration of our roots. The festival echoes our brand mantra, ‘My Roots, My Power,’ which reflects our commitment to preserving and honouring African heritage. By sponsoring Ojude Oba, we are not only supporting tradition but also deepening communal bonds and creating joyful shared experiences.”
Reinforcing the brand’s strategic direction, Olayinka Bakare, Marketing & Innovation Director at Guinness Nigeria, said:
“Our vision of ‘Building for More’ drives us to champion platforms that unite communities and celebrate diversity. The Ojude Oba Festival is a perfect match for our values, and through this partnership, we aim to amplify cultural pride and nurture lasting connections.”

Beyond the festivities, Guinness Nigeria continues to make a tangible difference in Ogun State through initiatives like the Water of Life programme, which provides access to safe drinking water, and Plan W, which has empowered over 200 women entrepreneurs in Ijebu-North.
With this partnership, Orijin reaffirms its place as more than a beverage—it is a cultural symbol.
