Grand Cherokee Is Best Off-Road SUV

Weststar Associates Limited recently introduced the Jeep  Grand Cherokee.

The vehicle, recently named the Northwest 2012 SUV of the Year by the Northwest Automotive Press Association (NWAPA) praised its comfort and capability in all kinds of driving situations. The vehicle was also recognised as winner of its Best Off-Road SUV award by the journalists.

Since its introduction, the 2012 Jeep Grand Cherokee has captured 30 awards from an array of opinion-leading publications, television and on-line media outlets, journalist associations and industry organisations, making it the most honoured SUV ever.

The Managing Director of Weststar Associates Limited, Mr. Mirko Plath says about the SUV: “The 2012 Jeep Grand Cherokee is a five-passenger midsize SUV and is available in Nigeria in two lines— Limited and Overland— with standard equipment which includes 17-inch alloy wheels, automatic headlights, fog lamps, cruise control, keyless ignition, dual-zone air-conditioning, power driver seat, a tilt-and-telescoping leather-wrapped steering wheel and a six-speaker audio system with radio, an auxiliary audio jack, a CD player and 30GB of memory space.

He added that, “the Security and Convenience Group adds remote ignition, bluetooth, a cargo cover, an auto-dimming rearview mirror and a USB/iPod interface, back-up camera, power passenger seat, leather upholstery and a nine-speaker stereo with HD radio, a subwoofer and a touch screen interface are also available.

The 2012 Jeep Grand Cherokee comes standard with four-wheel antilock disc brakes, stability and traction control, front and side airbags, side curtain airbags and active front head restraints.

The vehicle earned an overall rating of four stars out of a possible five, with four stars for overall frontal crash protection and five stars for overall side crash protection.

In testing by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety in the United States, the vehicle received the highest possible rating of “Good” in the frontal-offset, side and roof strength crash tests.

The vehicle  maintains its reputation as a capable performer thanks to good ground clearance and an advanced four-wheel-drive system.
