Veteran Nollywood actress Mercy Johnson-Okojie has finally announced her intention to publicly address the lingering rift between her and fellow actress Angela Okorie.
Taking to her Instagram Story, Mercy declared on Tuesday, “O ti to ge. It’s time to say my piece. Everything I need to say, I will say it tomorrow. 12PM. Instagram.”
The announcement comes in the wake of escalating tension between the two actresses, which has attracted widespread attention from both Nollywood insiders and fans alike.
The altercation worsened following Angela Okorie’s Instagram Live session on June 3, 2025, during which she claimed to have forgiven Mercy after hearing reports that the mother of four was seriously ill.
Angela, however, did not hold back in her criticism, urging Mercy to seek forgiveness from those she had allegedly wronged and questioning her use of religious language, which she suggested did not align with her actions.
Angela’s remarks sparked controversy from actress Regina Daniels, who leapt to Mercy’s defense.
In a fiery Instagram Story, Regina called Angela “mad” and insisted that neither she nor Mercy practices forgiveness.
“I’m sorry, and with all due respect, Aunty Angela, you dey mad! Abeg no forgive because for this side, we no dey forgive… No dey shalaye!!” Regina wrote.
The actress further reminded Angela of Mercy’s strength as a mother, stating, “She get pikin wey gidigba.”
This is not the first time Angela has publicly criticised Mercy Johnson. In a previous outburst, she attributed Mercy’s significant weight loss not to slimming tea, as widely believed, but to alleged spiritual consequences, stating that “she has no more blood to suck.”
Angela went on to accuse Mercy of destroying homes and lives and insisted that she must seek spiritual atonement or remain restless.
