Lagos NUTRW Election: Olohunwa Shames Elders
As the Lagos State council of the National Union of Road Transport Workers, NURTW, prepares for the election coming up soon, the camp led by former chairman of the council, Chief Rafiu Olohunwa, has frowned at the activities of the Elders Forum in the Lagos NURTW, which has tried in vain to tarnish ‘my image’ but could not succeed.
Speaking during a press briefing in Lagos, Olohunwa said: “Upon the noise these elders forum made against my regime, I thought they will present a chairmanship contestant in the coming election, but nothing like that has happened as the five contestants for now are all my men, but I know I will still win and retain my position because I have served the union well. Moreover, I am better than my opponents.”
According to the former Lagos NURTW boss, the Lagos election will be one of the freest and fairest elections ever conducted, adding that those hoping that the election will be marred with crisis should have a rethink as the election will be peaceful.
He appealed to all branches of the union to support the caretaker committee led by the branch secretary, Comrade Akin James, and pay the necessary dues to the state.
