The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPC) has issued a warning to the public about individuals impersonating the company and demanding money from investors.
According to a statement by NNPC spokesman Olufemi Soneye, these impersonators are soliciting fees for meetings with NNPC board members, executives, and management staff.
The NNPC urges the public to be cautious of individuals and companies falsely claiming to represent the company. Soneye emphasized that such actions are unauthorised and illegal.
Foreign investors and international business entities are particularly advised to remain vigilant and report any suspicious incidents to the authorities immediately.
The NNPC assures the public that all legitimate engagements with the company occur through official channels or business units only.
It says the company remains committed to transparency, integrity, and protecting its stakeholders. The public is encouraged to stay alert, share this notice, and work together to prevent scams.
