Former Ekiti State Governor and Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) chieftain, Ayodele Fayose, has commended President Bola Tinubu for his efforts to steer Nigeria away from economic collapse.

Fayose made this known after meeting with the President in Lagos on Monday.

According to Fayose, his visit was personal and aimed at encouraging the President to continue his efforts to improve the lives of Nigerians. He noted that while the reforms have not produced instant results, they reflect bold and stabilizing decisions necessary for the country’s recovery.

Fayose revealed that he had always believed in Tinubu’s leadership, even when he was a sitting governor. He praised the President’s courageous steps in stabilizing the economy and currency, saying these efforts put hope in the future for all Nigerians.

Fayose clarified that he would never leave the PDP. He said those who defected to the APC did so due to various reasons, including Tinubu’s performance and the crisis within the PDP.

Fayose warned that the PDP is in trouble and may soon become a “carcass” if it doesn’t take immediate steps to address its internal crisis. “Ayo Fayose will not move from PDP to any political party, not even APC,” he declared, emphasizing his loyalty to the party despite its challenges.
