Music industry mourns the passing of Sly Stone

American musician Sylvester Stewart, also known as Sly Stone has passed on at the age of 82.

Reports state that the singer died after losing a long battle with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease and some other health issues.

The singer who is known for redefining pop, rock and funk music has a long lost of iconic songs.

In 2024, a screenplay about his life’s story was published, covering important parts of his life and musical journey.

His colleague Bootsy Collins while speaking in an interview with Mojo said that Sly is the most talented musician he knows.

“The most talented musician I know is Sly Stone. He’s more talented than anybody I ever have seen, he’s amazing. I worked with him in Detroit from 1981 to ’83. To see him just fooling around, playing, jamming, is a whole other trip. He’s the most amazing musician,” he said.
