Israel claims Air Superiority over Tehran, strikes 40 targets in bold operation

The military official disclosed that the operation involved more than 70 fighter jets, which targeted 40 separate locations across the Iranian capital and its environs during overnight strikes.
Israeli military officials have declared that their forces are now operating with what they described as “aerial freedom” over Tehran, following extensive strikes that reportedly dismantled key Iranian air defense systems.
Brigadier General Effie Defrin, spokesperson for the Israel Defense Forces (IDF), made the revelation during a military briefing on Saturday, stating that Israel had achieved unprecedented operational reach into Iranian airspace.
“We’ve established aerial freedom of action from western Iran to Tehran,” Defrin announced.
According to him, Israeli fighter pilots were able to fly undetected for over two and a half hours above Tehran, alongside unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) that have been continuously monitoring the region.
“Our Air Force pilots flew for about two and a half hours over Tehran, alongside UAVs that remain airborne 24/7, surveilling the area and concluding with attacks and intelligence gathering,” he said.
According to CNN, the military official disclosed that the operation involved more than 70 fighter jets, which targeted 40 separate locations across the Iranian capital and its environs during overnight strikes.
“This is the first time we’ve operated in this airspace,” Defrin noted, emphasising the scale of the incursion. “It is the deepest penetration into Iran to date.”
He further attributed the success of the mission to the IDF’s initial wave of strikes, which he claimed neutralised Iran’s defensive capabilities.
“Dozens of these aircraft now operate freely over Tehran, thanks to our opening strikes, which eliminated many Iranian air defense threats,” Defrin added.
