The Lagos State Police Command has confirmed the recovery of a stun gun from Pastor Paul Adefarasin, Senior Pastor of House on the Rock Church, following his appearance for questioning over a widely circulated video showing him brandishing a gun-like object in traffic.

According to the command’s spokesperson, CSP Benjamin Hundeyin, the object in question was found to be a stun gun, which, although non-lethal, is classified as a prohibited anti-riot device under Nigerian law.

Hundeyin disclosed that Adefarasin voluntarily presented himself to police investigators at the command headquarters on Tuesday morning.

He was interrogated and provided a cautionary statement as part of the ongoing investigation.

“He was granted administrative bail while investigations continue,” Hundeyin stated.

The incident stems from a video that went viral in early June, purportedly showing the pastor holding a handgun while in traffic.

The footage triggered widespread speculation, particularly after it was shared by a popular TikToker known for recording luxury vehicles.

In response to the controversy, Adefarasin issued a public statement to his congregation and on his social media platforms, denying that the object was a firearm or that it was aimed at anyone.

He clarified that it was a non-lethal deterrent used strictly for self-defence and safety.

Police say the investigation is still underway to determine the full circumstances surrounding the possession and display of the device.
