French football star, Paul Pogba, broke down in tears as he signed a two-year contract with Ligue 1 side AS Monaco on Saturday, officially marking his return to professional football after serving a doping suspension.

The 32-year-old midfielder has been without a club since his contract with Juventus was terminated last year. Pogba was initially handed a four-year ban in August 2023 after testing positive for a banned substance. However, the suspension was later reduced to 18 months in October 2024.

With his ban now over, Pogba is set to restart his football career in his home country.

In an emotional video shared online, Pogba could be seen struggling to hold back tears while seated at a table, ready to sign his new contract. After putting pen to paper, the World Cup winner lowered his head, visibly overwhelmed, as he was consoled by a representative and Monaco’s sporting director, Thiago Scuro.

Pogba last played a competitive match in September 2023. His move to Monaco is seen as a fresh start and a chance to revive his once-bright career.

The signing has sparked mixed reactions on social media, with fans expressing support and caution following his past troubles.
