The Office of the Special Assistant to the Governor on Entertainment has officially announced the second edition of the Delta State Creative & Entertainment Summit.
Following the success of the maiden edition held last year at Unity Hall, Government House, Asaba, preparations are in top gear for what promises to be an even bigger gathering of creative talents, industry leaders, and stakeholders within and beyond the state.
According to a teaser flyer shared on their social media pages, this year’s summit will feature a stellar lineup of special guests and industry personalities. Among the notable names expected to grace the event are veteran comedian Gordons, award-winning singer Harrysong, celebrated stand-up comedian AY Comedian, and Tega Oghenejobo, the President of Mavin Records. Also making an appearance is Delta-born music star Victor AD, adding a local touch of pride to the event.
Interestingly, Nollywood legend Richard Mofe-Damijo (RMD) is also set to return for the second time, reaffirming his support for the state’s creative sector. His Excellency, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Francis Oborevwori, the Executive Governor of Delta State, will be attending as a special guest alongside top government officials and entertainment industry stakeholders.
The maiden edition of the summit, held in 2024, made remarkable strides in creating opportunities for Delta’s creative industry. From valuable networking to talent discovery and new business partnerships, the event proved to be a catalyst for the entertainment and creative ecosystem in the state. This year’s edition promises to build on that momentum, with even more exciting collaborations, partnerships, and investment opportunities for local talents.
Speaking on the forthcoming summit, the SA to the Governor, Amb. Prayer Pemu, revealed that this year’s edition would also introduce a training and skills acquisition program aimed at equipping creatives with practical skills to thrive in the modern entertainment space. He emphasized that the initiative aligns with Governor Oborevwori’s MORE Agenda, which seeks to foster economic growth, youth empowerment, and sustainable development in Delta State.
While the exact date of the summit is yet to be announced, organizers have confirmed it is scheduled to hold this July. The event continues to generate buzz and engagement, drawing interest from creatives within Nigeria and members of the Delta diaspora.
