Wike hits back at anti-Tinubu coalition, says Amaechi buried Nigeria in debt

KERA urges Bwari Area Council to immediately to engage in constructive, transparent dialogue with the residents of Katampe Extension.

Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, has taken a swipe at the newly formed anti-Tinubu coalition, describing its leaders as “a gang of failed and expired politicians.”

Speaking in Abuja, Wike criticized the takeover of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) by opposition figures, saying the move was nothing but a gathering of disgruntled men with nothing to offer Nigerians.

The former Rivers governor spared no one, calling out key players in the coalition.

“David Mark said Nigerians are not happy and they want to rescue the country. But he was Senate President for eight years. Was Nigeria in paradise back then?” Wike asked.

“He couldn’t deliver a single project in his hometown, Otukpo. Even his daughter lost the election under APC. So what has he really done?”

Wike didn’t stop there. He dragged former Transport Minister Rotimi Amaechi, accusing him of plunging Nigeria into debt during his time in office.

“Amaechi took Chinese loans and left us drowning in debt. And now you want to rescue Nigeria?” he queried.

Also in his line of fire was former Aviation Minister, Hadi Sirika.

“What happened to Air Nigeria under Sirika? Was that a gift to Nigerians too?”

Wike also took jabs at former AGF Abubakar Malami and former Sokoto Governor Aminu Tambuwal.

“Malami wrote something I read today — shameful! He was AGF, what did he solve? Tambuwal was Speaker and governor. What exactly did he do to reduce Nigerian suffering?”

He said former Sports Minister Bolaji Abdullahi only joined the ADC because of a fallout with his political godfather, Senator Bukola Saraki.

Wike, however, noted that the PDP remains the only party that can still stand up to President Tinubu — if it can put its house in order.

“The truth is, if PDP fixes itself, it’s the only party that can challenge Tinubu in 2027,” he said.
