Former presidential aide, Bashir Ahmad has described reports that former President Muhammadu Buhari is ill and has been admitted in an intensive Care Unit at an hospital in London as exaggerated.

Some reports had indicated that the former president has been admitted into ICU at a London hospital due to severe illness.

However, Ahmad who was the ex-presidential digital media aide said it is true that Buhari is unwell. He added that contrary to the exaggerated claims in some sections of the media, the former President is stable and responding well to treatment.

He added that there is optimism that the former Nigerian president will fully recover.

“In light of the recent media reports suggesting that former President Muhammadu Buhari is critically ill and has been admitted to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU), we find it necessary to set the record straight.

“It is true that former President Buhari is unwell and is currently receiving medical attention. However, contrary to the exaggerated claims circulating in the media, he is stable and responding well to treatment and we are optimistic about his full recovery.

“We appreciate the outpouring of prayers and goodwill from his supporters and well-wishers around the world. We continue to pray for his complete and speedy recovery,” Ahmad said in a post published on his X handle.
