The Lagos State Police Command has issued a public warning to a prominent Nigerian musician over the alleged purchase of a stolen vintage car worth more than N250 million.
During a press briefing at the police command headquarters in Ikeja, Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Moshood Jimoh, revealed that the red vintage vehicle was among 36 cars recovered from various states in Nigeria and abroad.
Without disclosing the celebrity‘s identity, Jimoh stated that the force had credible intelligence linking the musician to the acquisition of the luxury car and urged the individual to surrender before the police come knocking.
“This vehicle you are seeing was stolen from abroad, and we learnt it’s worth more than N250 million… We learnt that one prominent musician, I don’t want to mention his name, was alleged to have bought one of the vehicles,” he said.
The commissioner appealed to the unnamed singer to voluntarily return the red vintage car to the police to aid investigations and ensure justice is served.
“So, a celebrity that knows he bought this type of vehicle in red color should, before we look for him, bring the vehicle forward,” Jimoh added.
