APC to ADC: Stop crying, your problems are self-inflicted

The ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) has fired back at the African Democratic Congress (ADC) over claims that President Bola Tinubu’s government is intimidating opposition figures.

Describing the allegations as “childish and baseless,” the APC said the ADC was simply chasing shadows and looking for who to blame for its internal crisis.

In a statement on Tuesday, APC’s National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka, said the opposition party is drowning in confusion and trying to rope in the president to cover up its own failings.

“They claimed some of their state chairmen were summoned to a ‘secret meeting’ by federal government officials, but they can’t even name who or where,” Morka said.

“The so-called ‘credible intelligence’ they talk about is nothing more than a figment of their imagination. You can’t be shouting about intimidation when your party is clearly falling apart from the inside.”

He said the Tinubu-led administration is focused on governance and nation-building, not wasting energy on a party that has “mortally wounded itself.”

“Why would President Tinubu or the APC try to scatter a party that is already in pieces?” Morka asked. “ADC doesn’t need our help to unravel. They are already doing a fine job destroying themselves.”

The APC added that instead of fabricating conspiracy theories, the ADC should look inward and fix the “vainglorious and power-hungry individuals” tearing the party apart.

Observers say the exchange reflects a broader political tension as Nigeria’s 2027 election cycle draws closer, with smaller parties scrambling for relevance and accusing the big players of dirty tricks.

But for now, the APC insists it has no time for such distractions.

“We’re too busy building a better country,” the party said.
