Like Eagles; Benin’s Amateur Side Draw Botswana

Save for the referee who disallowed their second goal, an amateur club in Benin, Dynamite Sports of Benin would have ran away with a 2-1 win over the Zebras of Botswana in a friendly match played on Sunday in Benin, Edo State.

The Botswana team was the same side Nigeria’s Super Eagles, with their array of stars from Europe, could not beat in an international friendly match played at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium on Saturday.

2muchsports.com gathered that after Dynamite’s match against Zebras, officials of the Edo State Football Association pleaded with the players and officials of the club and even the pressmen on ground not to make much noise about the match so as not to create distraction for the new coach of the Super Eagles, Stephen Keshi.

The amateur club recently gained promotion to the Amateur Division One League and the Botswana team, needing a smaller team they could play to prepare for their next international friendly match against Niger, were  shocked by the kind of opposition they got from the Benin club on Sunday.

The Super Eagles were held to a goalless draw by the Botswana side that has 98 per cent of the team playing in their local league and two of them playing in the South African League.
