Edo Court remands five over alleged kidnapping

Justice A. N. Erhabor of Edo State High Court, Benin, has ordered the remand of five suspected kidnappers over the alleged kidnapping of a man simply identified as Iseriere.
The suspects, Ozo Obasuyi, Charles Edeho, Enofe Marvis, Johnbull Edoleyi, and Jeffery Igbinoba, were arraigned before the court by the Department of State Services (DSS).
The accused persons were alleged to have kidnapped the victim on June 13, 2025, at Eyean, a suburb community along the Benin-Auchi Road.
The prosecution said the offence in which the suspects were charged with, contravened Section 2(1) of the Edo State Kidnapping Prohibition Law of 2013.
Justice Erhabor who ordered the remand of the suspects at the Oko correctional facility, adjorned the case to a later date, pending legal advice from the Department of Public Prosecutions (DPP), to determine the next line of action in the prosecution.
