The State Commandant, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Mr Keshinro Adedotun, has commended the hitch-free conduct of the Lagos State local government elections held across the state on Saturday.
Keshinro, who had earlier assured the government, electoral officials, and voters of a peaceful exercise, said the election had so far been serene, smooth, and well-organised, owing to the orderly conduct of the electorate.
Speaking after a monitoring exercise, he disclosed that the NSCDC deployed 2,450 personnel and strategic monitoring teams to ensure adequate security, peace, and stability throughout the process.
The commandant also praised voters for cooperating with security personnel across various wards and polling units.
He listed some of the local government areas (LGAs) and local council development areas (LCDAs) monitored to include Ikeja (Alausa), Agege, Isolo, Alimosho, Epe, Badagry, Ikorodu, and Apapa.
Keshinro lauded Lagoa residents for their high level of compliance with the movement restrictions and urged them to remain law-abiding during future elections in the state.
