Veteran Nollywood actor Yemi Solade has openly apologized to fellow actor and filmmaker Afeez Owo for slapping him during a movie shoot more than two decades ago.
Speaking on the latest episode of Behind the Fame—African A-List, Yemi Solade recalled the altercation, which occurred while filming in a town on the outskirts of Ibadan.
According to him, Afeez Owo, who served as the production manager at the time, made some accusations that triggered an emotional outburst from him.
“Let me apologise to Afeez Abiodun,” Solade said. “He was laying accusations, and I got infuriated. That slap came from nowhere in the dark. I didn’t like that I did it.”
He revealed that after the incident, Afeez quietly left the set early the next morning. Although Solade said he had spoken about the matter with others over the years, he felt the need to publicly address it and offer a sincere apology directly to Owo.
“I don’t like insults, and that could be my weakness,” he admitted.
