Oyebamiji made this known to party supporters during a visit to the Ijesa-North federal constituency on Monday where he  criticized Gov. Adeleke's administration of the state.

The head of the National Inland Waterways Authority (NIWA) and a governorship hopeful under the All Progressives Congress (APC), Bola Oyebamiji has said that the people of Osun State will vote out Governor Ademola Adeleke in the 2026 election.

Oyebamiji made this known to party supporters during a visit to the Ijesa-North federal constituency on Monday where he  criticized Gov. Adeleke’s administration of the state.

He said the Adeleke administration has received a huge amount of money but has done very little with it.

According to him:

“In the last 30 months, Osun State has received more than 300% of what it used to get from the federal government. But despite all this money, there’s nothing meaningful to show for it.”

He accused the governor of wasting resources and not delivering real development to the people.

The NIWA boss also spoke about speculations flying around that Governor Adeleke might leave the PDP and join the APC, thus telling his supporters not to worry.

“Our leader, the Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, Mr. Adegboyega Oyetola, will speak to you himself soon. But he asked me to tell you that there is no need to panic. Our leaders are in control, and nobody will take away your efforts.”

He urged APC members to stay united and focused as they prepare for the next election. He also said that the federal government is working to resolve the local government leadership crisis in the state.

“Our minister is doing his best to make sure the right thing is done regarding the local councils. Our elected local government officials are still in charge and will remain in office until we win again in 2026, by the grace of God.”

Meanwhile, Governor Ademola Adeleke, while speaking at another event on the same day, responded to the rumors about his defection. He said clearly that he is not leaving the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

“I am not going anywhere. I am staying in the PDP,” the governor said.
