CHAN 2025: Chelle names full list of players in Super Eagles B squad

Head Coach Eric Chelle has released his final list of players for the 2025 African Nations Championship (CHAN), with captain Junior Nduka, Godwin Obaje and Sikiru Alimi making the cut.

The squad, made up of 23 home-based players, will depart Nigeria for Zanzibar today (Thursday) ahead of the tournament scheduled for August 2 to 30 in Kenya, Tanzania, and Uganda.

Other players on the list include goalkeeper Ozoemena Ani, defenders Sodiq Ismaila and Stephen Mayo, midfielders Hadi Haruna and Alex Oyowah, and forwards Anas Yusuf and Ijoma Anthony.

The team has been in camp for weeks at the Remo Stars Sports Institute in Ogun State. A second training camp will hold in Zanzibar from Friday until July 31 before the team moves into official accommodation.

The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has also arranged two friendlies against the Zanzibar national team, scheduled for July 28 and July 31.

Nigeria, silver medalists in 2018 and bronze winners in 2014, will face defending champions Senegal, Sudan and Congo in Group D.

The first two matches against Senegal and Sudan will be played at the Amman Stadium in Zanzibar, while the final group game against Congo holds at the Benjamin Mkapa Stadium in Dar es Salaam.
