In Nigeria’s rapidly evolving digital economy, a homegrown fintech solution, Faveremit, is gaining ground among young entrepreneurs, freelancers, and digital hustlers seeking faster, more dependable financial transactions.
Founded by Nigerian tech entrepreneur Gabriel Olusola, Faveremit is redefining how Nigerians engage with digital banking by offering swift, user-friendly, and reliable services tailored to the everyday financial needs of its users.
“We didn’t create this app in some fancy boardroom—we built it by living through the same problems our users face every day,” Olusola told PM News. “When you’re trying to make things happen, you can’t afford delays or failed transactions. That’s why Faveremit exists.”
The platform’s offerings include instant gift card trading, virtual dollar cards for seamless international payments, and hassle-free funding for global subscriptions like Netflix, Apple Music, and Canva. Users can also pay bills, send money using simple usernames, and access secure biometric login and real-time transaction alerts.
One of the standout features is Faveremit’s virtual dollar card, which is designed to overcome the challenges of making international payments—a common frustration with traditional banks. Unlike conventional banking platforms that often decline foreign payments or impose strict transaction limits, Faveremit’s dollar card works instantly and is accepted globally.
“We made sure our card just works—no unnecessary delays, no endless verification steps,” Olusola explained.
Beyond financial transactions, the app is also helping to create employment and income opportunities. Through referral programs and internal job openings in areas like tech, content creation, and customer support, Faveremit is building a digital ecosystem for hustlers, by hustlers.
“Our goal isn’t just to move money; it’s to empower people,” the founder said.
Despite Nigeria’s enduring cash culture, Faveremit is carving a niche with its reputation for speed, transparency, competitive exchange rates, and responsive customer support. The company has plans to introduce new features including loyalty rewards, merchant tools, and expanded crypto services.
Looking ahead, Olusola revealed that Faveremit is set to broaden its reach across Africa and into diaspora communities in the United States, United Kingdom, and Canada.
“You don’t need a foreign bank account or a second passport to access global opportunities,” he said. “With Faveremit, everything you need is right in your hands.”
As digital finance continues to gain traction in Nigeria, Faveremit stands out as a robust, locally-built alternative that puts speed, simplicity, and empowerment at the core of its mission.
