Actor Micheal Ward charged with rape, faces court in August

British actor Micheal Ward, famous for his role in Netflix hit Top Boy, has been charged with multiple sex offences and will appear in court next month.

The 27-year-old faces two counts of rape, two counts of assault by penetration, and one count of sexual assault, according to the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS).

The allegations involve one woman and are said to have occurred in January 2023.

“After reviewing the evidence, the CPS authorised the Metropolitan Police to charge Micheal Ward,” said Catherine Baccas, Deputy Chief Crown Prosecutor for CPS London South.

Ward is expected at Thames Magistrates’ Court on August 28, 2025.

Officials stressed that the actor is entitled to a fair trial and warned against online comments or reporting that could prejudice proceedings.

Ward, who rose to fame through Top Boy and has since featured in major films and campaigns, has not publicly commented on the charges.
