“That thing no happen!” – Omawumi slams Timaya over Burna Boy studio story

Singer Omawumi has fired back at Timaya, shutting down his viral claim that Burna Boy once sent her and fellow singer Waje out of a studio for doubting his dream of flying private jets.

The claim, which resurfaced from a 2023 interview, alleged Burna Boy kicked the two singers out after they laughed at his ambitions.

Speaking on Naija FM Lagos, Omawumi said the story was pure fiction.

“That thing no happen,” she said. “What hurt me the most is that Timaya involved me in a condescending way just to praise Burna Boy. Why bring my name into it?”

Omawumi added that Burna Boy himself has never disrespected her, insisting their only studio link-up was in 2010 when Waje was recording with him.

“I left because it was getting late,” she explained. “That incident never happened.”

The singer stressed that she has kept her name clean for almost two decades by staying drama-free and respecting her colleagues.
