PHCN Workers Resume Work
Normalcy has returned to the Abuja Headquarters of the Power Holding Company of Nigeria (PHCN) following the resumption of work by the company’s workers who were on strike.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that on November 16, PHCN’s staff went on strike to demand the removal of security personnel which the Federal Government deployed to the company’s installations across the country.
A NAN correspondent, who visited the company’s headquarters on Friday, in Abuja, reports that activities have fully resumed at the complex.
Elevators that were grounded during the strike have started functioning, while many vehicles were seen parked by the workers who were at their duty posts.
However, Mrs. Effuru Igbo, the PHCN’s General Manager, Public Affairs, told NAN that the workers did not go on strike as there was no cause for that.
“You can see our staff at their various tables working; and you can see me here also working. Go to other departments and you can see others there working as well.
“PHCN workers have not been on strike; if you hear that, it is false,” she said.
