Lagos gears up for Strategic Retreat to boost Ministry performance

The Lagos State Ministry of Establishments and Training will hold a Strategic Management Retreat from July 31 to August 2, 2025, aimed at repositioning the ministry for improved performance and alignment with the state’s developmental goals.

The three-day event, themed “Unfreezing Change: Building and Institutionalizing High Impact Leadership,” will foster a performance-driven culture across the ministry’s departments.

The retreat will feature keynote presentations, breakout sessions, team-building activities, and directorate-level reviews of key performance indicators (KPIs), all designed to align with the Lagos State Government’s THEMES+ agenda.

Participants, including Commissioner, Permanent Secretary, Directors, and senior officials, will engage in high-level discussions to enhance the ministry’s relevance and service delivery.

Key facilitators include Mr. Sam Egube, Deputy Chief of Staff to the Governor, and former Permanent Secretaries Mr. Biodun Bamgboye and Dr. Abiodun Augustine Onayele.

Mental health and organizational behavior consultants will also lead a session on wellness and workplace productivity, emphasizing holistic approaches to leadership and efficiency.

The retreat is expected to produce actionable strategies to strengthen the ministry’s role in transforming the Lagos State Public Service, fostering a renewed sense of purpose among its leadership.

By focusing on high-impact leadership and strategic alignment, the ministry aims to drive greater efficiency and impact in its operations.
