The Federal High Court in Lagos has adjourned the trial of three company directors and their firms over an alleged N805.5 million advance fee fraud to 13 November 2025.

The case involves Alpha Foodteck Nigeria Limited, Belofte International Limited, Belofte Nigeria Limited, and three of their directors-Manoj Kumar, Jadoun Jayver Singh, and Amit Singh, who are accused of conspiring to defraud two companies, BASCHE Limited and CAPSA Technology Limited, under the guise of financing food-related invoices.

According to the charge filed by Barrister M.A. Animashaun, a legal officer from the Legal and Prosecution Section of the Force Criminal Investigation Department, Alagbon, Lagos, the defendants, along with several accomplices currently at large, allegedly committed the offence in November 2021 at 29 Adeyinka Street, off Sura Mogaji Street, Ilupeju, Lagos.

The prosecution alleged that the directors and their companies obtained the sum of N805,545,322.00 from BASCHE Limited and CAPSA Technology Limited by falsely representing that the funds would be used to finance food invoice transactions.

However, after receiving the money, the defendants allegedly disappeared without fulfilling the agreement.

The charge accuses the defendants of conspiracy and obtaining money under false pretence, acts which contravene Sections 8(a) and 1(3) of the Advance Fee Fraud and Other Fraud Related Offences Act of 2006, as well as Section 390 of the Criminal Code Act, Cap C38, Laws of the Federation of Nigeria 2004.

The court has adjourned the matter to allow further deliberation and the continuation of trial proceedings.
