‘Blacklisted for refusing to kiss women,’ Neal McDonough

Veteran Hollywood actor Neal McDonough has opened up about his acting career and how his principles almost cost him his entire career.

McDonough in an interview, emphasised his commitment to his marriage and how he was blacklisted because of it.

He noted that he had included a no-kissing clause in his contracts, which did not sit well with producers and directors.

“I always had in my contracts that I wouldn’t kiss another woman on screen. My wife didn’t have any problem with it. It was me, really, who had a problem,” McDonough said.

The actor also explained that he decided to avoid romantic scenes when he planned to start a family with his wife. He also revealed the price he had to pay for holding on to his beliefs, noting that his career and finances took a huge blow.

“They wouldn’t let me be part of the show anymore. And for two years, I couldn’t get a job, and I lost everything you could possibly imagine, not just houses and material things, but your swagger, your cool, who you are, your identity, everything,” he recounted.

McDonough, however, said he does not regret his decision and he eventually found his footing again.
