Full list: Gov Alia names 8 new commissioners in Benue

Governor Hyacinth Alia of Benue State has submitted the names of eight new commissioner-nominees to the State House of Assembly.

The list, sent on Friday, is the first batch of Alia’s cabinet picks since he dissolved the State Executive Council on Wednesday, retaining only his Chief of Staff, Barr. Moses Atagher.

According to the governor’s spokesman, Tersoo Kula, the move is part of efforts to revamp governance and boost service delivery.

The nominees are:

Hon. Theresa Odachi Ikwue

Hon. Dr. Benjamin Ashaver

Hon. Dr. Adamu Margaret Ijaguwa

Hon. Dr. Peter Oboh Egbodo

Dr. Yangien Timothy Ornguga

Hon. Denis Iyaighgba

Hon. James Dwem

Dr. Paul Ejeh Ogwuche

Kula hinted that a second list will be sent to the Assembly “in the coming days.”

The new nominees are expected to be screened and confirmed by the lawmakers.
