Peter Okoye, the other half of the singing duo, P-Square, has explained why he reported his elder brother, Jude Okoye, to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, over alleged diversion of funds.

Popular Nigerian singer Peter Okoye, also known as Mr P, has spoken out against negative perceptions surrounding his career and used the moment to inspire fans to embrace self-worth and leave toxic spaces.

The former PSquare member made the comments while reacting to a viral social media post that praised his growth from being labeled “just a dancer” to a successful vocalist.

In the post, a fan wrote:
“Person wey them talk say him no sabi sing say na dance him dey dance, na him come sabi sing pass… false narrative.”

In response, Okoye emphasized the importance of walking away from situations where one’s efforts are unappreciated.

“Respect yourself enough to walk away from anything that no longer serves you, grows you, or makes you happy,” he said, encouraging people to never settle for less and to always know their value.

He added:
“But sadly, most people fall for it. In this life, always know your worth. Don’t settle for less, and never stay where you’re not valued or respected. Respect yourself enough to leave any place where your efforts are not appreciated. #TheyLied”
