Hotel under construction collapses in Edo, kills proprietor

A hotel proprietor, Harrison Isesele, was reportedly killed over the weekend in Edo State, when a proposed hotel building collapsed on him.
The tragedy occurred at Idumoza community in Uromi, Esan North-East Local Government Area of the State.
The deceased was said to be at the site inspecting the progress of work done when the building suddenly collapsed on him.
He was said to have been trapped in the rubble, leading to his death before help could come his way.
It was however gathered that construction workers escaped unhurt by before the collapse of the building.
Eyewitness report had it that the one-storey building said to be at roofing stage suddenly collapsed though the development was not anticipated.
At the time of filling report, no official report on the cause of the collapse of the building had been made.

He alleged that the owner was warned about use of 12mm rods instead of 16mm, for the pillars.
