AC Milan close in on Swiss-Nigerian defender Zachary Athekame

Italian giants AC Milan are not backing down in their pursuit of Swiss-Nigerian right-back, Zachary Athekame.

The Rossoneri have decided to increase their offer after Young Boys rejected their initial €7 million bid.

Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano confirmed on Monday via X that Young Boys informed Milan they want more than €7 million for the 19-year-old defender.

But Milan are ready to raise their bid and get the deal done quickly.

Athekame, who holds both Swiss and Nigerian nationalities, is said to be fully focused on a move to the San Siro. He only wants AC Milan.

The youngster currently features for Young Boys and the Switzerland U21 side. His pace, overlapping runs, and defensive discipline have caught the eye of Milan scouts.
