The Association of Lagos State Retired Heads of Service and Permanent Secretaries (ALARHOSPS) has issued a clarion call for a nationwide ethical and moral renaissance to address Nigeria’s pressing challenges.
In a statement by its President, Otunba Nurudeen Ojora-Adejiyan, the association urged Nigerians to unite across status, religion, and ethnicity to foster selfless service and collective responsibility for national progress.
Announcing the 12th Annual Summit, scheduled for August 12-13, 2025, Ojora-Adejiyan emphasized the urgent need for a moral overhaul in response to recent national events.
“We must acknowledge our shared responsibility for the current moral decline and work together to drive positive change,” he stated, advocating for actions rooted in integrity and devoid of self-interest.
The summit, a platform for discussing governance and service delivery, builds on last year’s focus on sustainable development and food security, which sparked nationwide conversations.
ALARHOSPS also commended the Lagos State Government’s establishment of the Lagos State Food Infrastructure Company (LAFINSCO), a strategic move to bolster food security and agricultural productivity.
As Nigeria grapples with systemic challenges, ALARHOSPS’ call for a moral rebirth underscores the need for collective action to restore ethical standards and drive sustainable development.
