First City Monument Bank (FCMB) has joined forces with the International Finance Corporation (IFC) to launch the Goldman Sachs 10,000 Women Online education programme in Nigeria, a transformative initiative aimed at empowering women entrepreneurs.
The programme, developed by Goldman Sachs and delivered through the University of Leeds, offers practical business education, interactive activities, and instruction from top-tier business school educators.
The 10,000 Women initiative, which has reached over 200,000 entrepreneurs globally, provides Nigerian women-led SMEs access to ten comprehensive courses and eligibility to join a vibrant alumni community.
Open to both startups and established businesses, the programme is designed to foster economic growth by equipping participants with critical skills for success.

“Empowering women entrepreneurs is essential to driving innovation, job creation, and economic growth,” said Yemisi Edun, FCMB’s Managing Director. “This program will enhance their skills and unlock new opportunities, aligning with our commitment to inclusive and sustainable growth.”
George Ogbonnaya, FCMB’s Divisional Head of Business Banking, emphasized the partnership’s focus on gender equality, stating, “This collaboration promotes a more inclusive entrepreneurial landscape and fosters sustainable growth for all.”
The initiative underscores FCMB’s dedication to supporting SMEs, a critical driver of Nigeria’s economy.
Applications for the 10,000 Women Online program opened on August 1, 2025, and will close on August 31, 2025.
