Controversial Nigerian social commentator, Solomon Buchi has aired his opinion on Toke Makinwa’s pregnancy announcement.
Buchi on Instagram, stated that Makinwa should not have associated her pregnancy with God. He claimed that since the pregnancy was had out of wedlock, then the media personality should not mix God with her news.
“I’m happy that Toke is having a child at almost 40; it seems it’s something she really desired as a woman, but I have a problem with mixing Jesus and God with it. She talked about how she had an agreement with God that she really wanted to be a mother,” he said.
The life coach also claimed that Makinwa’s testimony could be misleading because it is out of the standard of God. He noted that ideally, parenthood should be within the walls of marriage.
“We really need to be very careful how we mix God with our personal decisions. You are having a child outside of wedlock, there is no need bringing God into that, spiritualizing it. Honestly, you can give your testimony without infusing God into it. According to God’s standard, the only right way to be a parent is in the premise of marriage,” he added.
Buchi’s claims and opinion has since sparked controversy, with some users asking him to mind his business and not play the the role of God. Others agreed with him, noting that Makinwa’s announcement is not Godly.
