Last country without a team makes international football debut

The Marshall Islands has officially joined the world football community by playing its first international match.

Known as the last country without a national football team, the island nation faced the U.S. Virgin Islands in a friendly game.

According to the Marshall Islands Soccer Federation, some players had never played 11-a-side football or been in an official match before. Despite that, the team showed strong effort and determination.
