2027: Nyesom Wike declares loyalty to PDP, outlines ideal presidential candidate
Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, has disclosed the type of candidate he will support for the 2027 Nigerian presidency.
In an interview on Channels Television’s Politics Today, Wike stated that his support would go to a candidate capable of fostering Nigeria’s growth and protecting national interests.
Emphasizing his commitment to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), he said his decision is aimed at preventing Nigeria from regressing.
Wike said, “I will support somebody who I know will make Nigeria grow, somebody who has the interest of Nigeria. I don’t believe in sentiment or mere emotion.”
He also declared his dedication to justice, fairness, and equity within the party, asserting that the PDP’s internal constitution had been undermined. Wike reiterated his stance that power should continue moving to the South in 2027.
“If no notice of meeting has been served as a member of NEC, I have every right to challenge it and nobody can deny me my right,” he added.
Wike concluded by reaffirming his commitment to Nigeria’s progress, saying, “Nobody serves the interest of the PDP more than me.
