NSCDC operatives nab teenager with hard-drugs in Katsina

A 18-year-old boy identified as Hamza Ahmed has been arrested with hard-drugs by operatives of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) at Sabuwar Unguwa area of Katsina metropolis.

This is contained in a statement issued in Katsina on Tuesday by SC Buhari Hamisu, the command’s spokesperson.

According to him, the suspect, Hamza Ahmed, was apprehended by the Command’s special surveillance team, at Sabuwar Unguwa, Katsina metropolis on Aug. 11.

He said that Ahmed, 18, had confessed to committing the crime.

Hamisu said the success was recorded in line with the renewed strategies and the commitments of the Commandant, Mr Aminu Datti to rid the state of crime and criminal activities.

“Drug abuse and trafficking pose much danger to the socio-economic well being of our society and must be flushed out of Katsina State for the safety of all.

“The Command will not tolerate these acts as personnel are on 24-hour surveillance to address these crimes,” he stated.

He called on the general public to continue to provide necessary support to security agencies, by providing credible and timely information that will help uncover the activities of miscreants in the state. (NAN)
