The Nigeria Police Force (NPF) has opened a condolence register at its Force Headquarters in Abuja to honour the late Solomon Arase, the 18th Indigenous Inspector-General of Police, who passed away on August 31 at 69.
Current Inspector-General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, led senior officers and staff in paying tribute to the former police chief, signing the condolence register and reflecting on Arase’s service.
“In honour of his memory, the Police flag will fly at half-mast in all Commands and Formations nationwide,” the NPF said in a statement on its X account on Monday.
The gesture forms part of formal remembrances by the force following the death of a revered officer celebrated for his humility and dedication to the service.
