The Ogun State Institute of Technology (OGITECH), Igbesa, came alive on Monday, September 1, 2025, as staff, students, and community leaders surprised the Rector, Dr. Oluseye Abiodun, with a special celebration marking his second year in office.

The event was secretly organized by the Deputy Rector, Dr. Odutota Akanbi, Acting Registrar, Mrs. Sakirat Olajumoke Johnson, members of the management team, and members of Dr. Oluseye’s family.

The Rector, who had been away on official duties during the anniversary week, walked into the reception without any idea of the plan.

The gathering attracted dignitaries including the Chief Imam of Igbesaland, the Chairman of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) in Igbesaland, as well as alumni, staff, students, and friends of the institution.

Speaking at the event, the Chairman of the OGITECH Alumni Association, Mr. Kazeem Sholotan, praised the Rector’s leadership, describing his two years in office as “outstanding.” He noted that Dr. Oluseye has improved academic standards, built stronger ties with alumni, and shown humility and dedication in his service.

In his response, Dr. Oluseye thanked the management, staff, students, and community leaders for the honour. He said the surprise was humbling and promised to continue working for the growth and development of OGITECH.

The celebration ended with goodwill messages, prayers, and warm tributes to the Rector, reflecting the community’s support for his administration.
