Veteran Nollywood actress and filmmaker Shan George has revealed how honesty once cost her a major investment opportunity in her career.

Taking to her Facebook page, the actress recounted meeting one of Nigeria’s wealthiest men over a decade ago while she was still an upcoming producer.

According to her, she seized the chance to invite him to her movie premiere and boldly asked if he could invest in her next project.

Shan disclosed that when the man asked how much she spent on her film, she truthfully told him it cost ₦6 million, a huge sum at the time.

Rather than considering her request, he dismissed her and later became unreachable despite her attempts to follow up.

Years later, the actress said she read where the same man stated that he does not take “little people” seriously in business.

Shan admitted that telling the truth often holds people back but insisted she would never “join the lying gang” or fake success to impress.

In a message directed at the billionaire, she wrote:

“Oga sir, I now make movies with $100 million. Just one Bitcoin, will you now invest? Or are we still too small?”

Shan George also used the opportunity to advise others not to compromise their integrity, even if it means losing opportunities.

The actress, known for her outspoken nature, has in the past called out questionable practices in Nollywood, exposed fake lifestyles of colleagues, and even raised alarm over challenges, including a ₦3.6 million bank fraud incident last year.
