Serving as Chairman of the occasion, Dangote described Iceland as “a very special place,” joking that it was his first visit to the Nordic country and that he had been asleep since arrival.

Africa’s richest man, Aliko Dangote, stole the spotlight at the wedding of singer and entrepreneur Mr Eazi (Tosin Ajibade) and billionaire heiress Temi Otedola, held in Iceland, with an emotional, and witty speech that drew both admiration and laughter.

Serving as Chairman of the occasion, Dangote described Iceland as “a very special place,” joking that it was his first visit to the Nordic country and that he had been asleep since arrival.

He admitted cancelling other engagements to attend the wedding, describing Temi as “a very, very special person to the family.”

Turning to the groom, Dangote praised Mr Eazi’s humility and business acumen, noting that he was impressed by the singer’s ventures across 18 African countries. He called him “calm, humble, and a rare blend of musician and businessman,” adding that Temi was “lucky to have such a husband.”

He also celebrated Temi’s determination and independence, recalling that she had always chosen to forge her own path rather than rely solely on her father’s wealth. He described her as “entrepreneurial, tough, and determined,” qualities he said would strengthen her marriage.

In his marital advice, Dangote urged the couple to keep their matters private, grow closer to each other, and avoid external influences.

With humour, he promised to host “a very big party” in celebration of their first child, hinting at London, Miami, or even Iceland as possible venues.

Dangote concluded by hailing Femi Otedola, father of the bride, for making the elaborate ceremony possible, calling it “the greatest wedding of the year” and “a truly historic celebration.”

The billionaire ended, joking that with their entrepreneurial spirit, Temi and Mr Eazi could one day become “the richest people on earth.”
